Ghana’s Premier Inter-City Road Race
Established in 2022 in partnership with Ghana Athletics, the Accra Inter-City Marathon is a 21-kilometre race held as part of the annual Homowo Festival. From the Accra Sports Stadium through the historic streets of Osu, Labadi and James Town, thousands of runners — elite athletes, students, corporate teams, boxers and keep-fit clubs — race through the heart of the capital in one of Ghana’s biggest road running events.

21-Kilometre Marathon
The flagship Homowo Marathon race — a 21km route from the Accra Sports Stadium through Osu, Labadi and James Town, open to elite and amateur athletes nationwide.
Insurance Program
Every registered participant is covered for the duration of the race, so runners of all fitness levels can take part with confidence and peace of mind.
Championship Event
Home to past champions Martin Tirop, Kooga Atia and Noel Wumborichie, the marathon crowns Ghana’s fastest inter-city runners each year with cash prizes and national recognition.
Kids Running Program
A dedicated short-distance category for children and young runners, encouraging healthy habits and active lifestyles from an early age.
